Painting shoes

Sometimes you buy something you love, and you wear and use it until it starts getting bad. This happens with shoes, jackets, couches, your car. Sometimes leather just loses its color and it starts to get ugly. You don’t have to throw your items away anymore. You can give them a whole new look by painting the leather. You can paint something in the same color as it used to be, but you can also pick a whole new color to spice things up a bit.  

Painting leather requires some time and effort. There are certain steps you have to take before you can go ham with your brush. First of all you have to decide what kind of leather you are working with. If your item is made of soft leather, you have to use suede dye instead of regular leather paint. After you make sure you have the right paint for your leather, you have to make sure the leather is as clean as possible. You have to get all of the grease, dirt and dust of the leather before painting it. If you don’t do this, the grease will prevent the paint from sticking and dirt will clump up in the paint making it not smooth. Use something that will get the grease off and make sure the leather is completely dry. Get something to cover the surface you’re working on. Paint is very hard to get out of wood or concrete so make sure you protect it. When you start painting, make sure you don’t use too much paint at once. Use little amounts of paint that you keep layering after they dry. This way the paint will cover in the nicest way and it will dry way faster than when you use a lot at once.
